Gorey Community Employment Scheme is a non-profit organisation and has been in operation for over 20 years. The project is managed by the Community Employment Supervisor and by the sponsorship management committee. It is funded by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection.
Gorey CE Scheme currently employs 20 CE participants, who are essential to the effective and efficient running of so many community groups in Gorey and the surrounding areas. They bring a very positive contribution to the areas they work in.
Positions on our scheme include; Youth Workers, Childcare Assistants, Ground Workers on local sports grounds, ground maintenance workers, Office administration, Shop workers, delivery drivers and work with older people in the community.
Community Employment participants work 19.5 hours per week in community organizations. Each participant is given a personalised Training and Development plan. CE participants can take up other part-time work during their placement and are encouraged to seek permanent part-time and full-time jobs elsewhere, based on the experience and new skills they are gaining.
To participate on Gorey CE Scheme you must register at your local INTREO Employment Services Office and meet certain Eligibility Criteria.
